Our Story

Music in Ancient Kingdoms

Music sits at the heart of everything E4GG Travel and Events4greatergood does and Ethical Schoolies is no different.

If you play an instrument, there is the rare opportunity to perform alongside some of Nepal’s most respected grassroots artists in candle-lit shows on ancient temple steps or jamming with bands in the venues.

For those who don’t play, the experience will be no less magical as you won’t witness many gigs like this in your life.

Music is a bridge that connects everyone.

Connection That Changes Perspective

Time spent at the girls’ shelter supported by Events4GreaterGood (E4GG) becomes one of the most powerful and meaningful parts of the journey.

Sharing stories, music, laughter, and time together creates genuine human connection.

This is not about volunteering. It’s about understanding, perspective shifts, gratitude, growth, connection and the greatest feeling for what you are giving to them.

A Blend of Culture, Social Impact & Adventure

Day One – Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, guests will be warmly welcomed by our team at the arrival gate with a traditional Khada ceremony, symbolising respect, blessing, and good fortune.

Our staff will assist with luggage and transfer the group to their hotel.

After check-in, students will enjoy a welcome dinner and have time to rest and settle in, preparing for the incredible experiences ahead.

Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day Two – Shelter Visit and Namobuddha Pilgrimage Hike

The journey continues with a drive to Dhulikhel (approximately 32 km / 1 hour 15 minutes), home to the girls’ shelter supported by E4GG.

Here, students will receive a short introduction to the shelter before spending time interacting, sharing stories, and building connections with the girls. Students may also offer donations such as clothing or essential items to support the shelter.

Following this meaningful visit, the group will embark on a hike to Namobuddha, one of Nepal’s most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites, known for its deep spiritual significance and breathtaking panoramic Himalayan views.

After returning from the hike, students will have time to rest at the hotel.

Those who wish may revisit the shelter for further connection and interaction.

The day begins with a refreshing yoga session led by an experienced yoga teacher, introducing simple and accessible practices that support both physical and mental wellbeing.

Following breakfast, students will return to the shelter and, together with the girls, take part in a unique 1,000-step walk through Dhulikhel. This scenic walk offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan foothills and countryside.

Later, students and shelter residents will come together for a special music and gigging session, sharing songs, creativity, and cultural exchange. This experience creates powerful and lasting connections through music.

The day concludes with time to relax and reflect.

Day Four – Return to Kathmandu, Monks, and Sacred Temples

After returning to Kathmandu and checking into the hotel, the group will visit the iconic Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most important Buddhist sites in the world.

Here, students will meet with a Buddhist monk who will guide them through the site, explaining Buddhist philosophy, traditions, and daily spiritual practices, while answering questions.

Students will share traditional butter tea with the monks and take part in a butter lamp lighting ceremony, a deeply meaningful ritual symbolising compassion and enlightenment.

The journey continues to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in Nepal. Students will learn about its spiritual importance and observe the traditional cremation ceremonies that take place along the Bagmati River.

Day Five – Social Impact, Ancient Kathmandu, Gigging, and Cooking

The morning begins with another optional yoga session.

The group will then visit Manav Sewa Ashram, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting Nepal’s most vulnerable people, including the homeless, elderly, and disabled.

Each student will then enjoy a traditional rickshaw ride through the historic streets of Kathmandu, visiting the vibrant local markets of Indrachowk and Ason.

Students will be given time and a small allowance (NPR 1,000) to explore, shop, and experience daily life in Kathmandu.

A special gigging program will take place in Durbar Square, including candle-lit performances on the ancient temple steps — a rare and unforgettable experience.
